Horn, Music Theory
Carrie Campbell studied horn at the University of Georgia with Dr. Jean Martin-Williams. After completing her Bachelor's in Music Education, Carrie received a Master of Music in Horn Performance from Yale University, where she studied with Paul Ingraham. Carrie has played with several award-winning chamber ensembles including QUADRE - The Voice of Four Horns, as well as keeping busy freelancing with orchestras throughout the Bay Area. She is principal horn with the Silicon Valley Symphony and can regularly be seen in the pit orchestras of Bay area musical productions like "West Side Story," "Oklahoma," "Oliver," "Beauty and the Beast," and "Sunset Boulevard." Carrie teaches horn and music theory at Hope Street Music Studios and at the Community School of Music and Arts in Mountain View, CA.
Horn - I teach beginners to advanced players. Students will focus on the fundamentals of horn playing, solo and ensemble repertoire, and orchestral excerpts for the more advanced player.
Theory and Ear Training - I am well versed in the ABRSM, Royal Conservatory, Certificate of Merit, and Advanced Placement requirements for music theory and ear training. We will focus on the fundamentals of music theory and how it is applied to performance, as well as exam preparation.
