Mary Helen Weinstein received Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in performance from the Eastman School of Music and two teaching credentials from National University. She has toured with Chuck Mangione, The Fifth Dimension, San Francisco Ballet, and Western Opera. She was a member of the San Jose Symphony for 17 years, and has also performed with the Rochester Philharmonic, Galilee Orchestra, S.F. Women’s Philharmonic (as Concertmaster), and San Francisco, Oakland, Marin, and Santa Rosa Symphonies.
Mary Helen is currently on the faculty of both Hope Street Music Studios and CSMA in Mountain View, CA. She performs locally with String Thing Jazztet and New Millenium Quartet. Guiding violin and viola students ages 7-87 in all aspects of technique, how to practice, and preparation for performance, she also offers a fun string ensemble class in the summer.
